Robots are becoming increasingly common across many areas of life, and lawn mowing is no exception. Robotic lawnmowers might be technologically advanced bits of kit, but that doesn’t mean they’re complicated to operate. To get going, all you need to do is peg out the perimeter wire around the area to be cut, place the docking station in your preferred position, and then program the time at which you’d like the robot to get to work. Once finished – or when the battery is low – the robot mower will automatically return to base.
Robot lawnmowers are equipped with precision-machined mulching blades, which turn grass-clippings into super-fine, practically invisible particulates. The mulched cuttings will rot away in quick time, with the decomposition process producing nutrients and micro-organisms that act as a free, organic lawn feed.
Because they cut in random patterns, robot mowers place far less stress and strain on the turf than do walk-behind mowers that constantly follow the same line. They can be programmed remotely using your laptop, smartphone or tablet (select models); and they boast collision sensors that help them detect and manoeuvre around any obstacles they might encounter.
All of our robotic lawnmowers employ cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries offering shorter charge-times, lengthier run-times and improved durability compared to the previous generations of ni-cad and lead-acid units.
