Discover the latest addition to the HE-VA cultivation equipment lineup – the Top Strigle straw harrow, unveiled by OPICO at LAMMA in January.

With an increasing trend towards reduced or no-till crop establishment, there’s a growing need for efficient implements that can quickly and economically distribute straw across fields. The Top Strigle meets this demand while also aiding in slug control and combating problematic grass weeds.

Positioned directly behind the combine, the Top Strigle features five rows of heavy-duty harrow tines that effectively spread crop residue, creating an optimal environment for weed germination while disrupting slug eggs, preventing the emergence of these pests. Operating at a slight angle to the combine’s path, it ensures uniform coverage of straw and chaff across the entire field, facilitating smoother trash flow for subsequent tillage and drilling tasks.

Equipped with hydraulic tine angle adjustment, operators can adapt the harrow’s aggressiveness on-the-go to suit varying field conditions. For those interested in cover crop establishment, an optional Stocks seeder unit is available.

Available in working widths ranging from 3m to 10m, the HE-VA straw harrow is designed to operate at speeds of 15-25kph. Its 16mm diameter long-fingered spring tines create a fine surface tilth, ideal for encouraging weed seed and volunteer germination.

Recognising the strains of high-speed operation, HE-VA’s engineers have incorporated a heavy-duty central ladder-frame with dual hinge points and fold rams front and rear, ensuring the Top Strigle’s durability and longevity.

The Top Strigle offers farmers a versatile and reliable solution for straw spreading, slug control, and weed management, promising efficiency and effectiveness in every operation.
