The the latest enhancements to Strautmann’s Zelon forage-wagons, designed to improve performance and efficiency across the board.
The compact Zelon range has undergone a series of upgrades to align with the cutting-edge features found in other models within the Strautmann lineup. These enhancements promise to extend the capabilities of the Zelon range significantly.
Targeted primarily at smaller livestock operations aiming to maintain in-house silage production for optimal timing and forage quality, the 24-35cu.m Zelon range now boasts a host of improvements. These include a new knife-bank, upgraded rotor driveline, and expanded pick-up options.
Key among the updates is the integration of the Exact-Cut chopper unit, previously exclusive to larger Strautmann forage-wagons. Featuring a 37-knife unit, it offers finer chop lengths down to 39mm, ensuring improved silage quality, reduced sorting, and minimised wastage at the feed fence.
Moreover, the new chopper unit incorporates auto-reset stone protection and reversible blades for minimal downtime. To handle heavier crops effectively, the rotor is now wider and utilises a duplex chain drive with auto tensioner and auto oiler, reducing maintenance requirements.
Maintaining Strautmann’s patented Continuous Flow System rotor, the Zelon ensures an even distribution of material across the entire width of the knife bank, optimising crop flow. Additionally, enhancements such as height-adjustable crop press rollers and a wider cam-less pick-up with optional Flex-Load tines further contribute to improved performance and durability.
Inside, the wooden floor has been replaced with powder-coated corrosion-resistant steel, enhancing longevity and resilience. The Zelon also offers versatile running gear options, including a standard tandem axle arrangement or a 16-tonne version with passive steering for enhanced manoeuvrability.
Equipped with ISOBUS compatibility, operators can seamlessly control the Zelon wagons via the tractor’s in-cab computer or a standard toggle-switch control box, ensuring ease of use and integration.
