The Stihl MS261 18” petrol engine chainsaw is ideal machine for any grounds maintenance and makes quick work of cutting firewood, and can even be used for maintenance on small to medium trees. Stihl side chain tensioner, with a screw that can be found on the side of the chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain. A Manual fuel pump which delivers fuel to the carburettor with a touch of a button, reducing the number of starting strokes when the machine has had extended breaks in operation and finally Stihl ErgoStart which reduces the effort required to start by half, with just a gentle pull your be away in no time.

For people unfamiliar with hand held mechanical equipment this Stihl MS261 is a lightweight chainsaw weighing in at only 4.9kg, and along with its efficient and economical 2 mix engine with exhaust emissions being reduced by 50%. Thanks to the advanced combustion technology it gives you lower fuel consumption results and high torque across an extensive rpm range.

It features a compensator controller preventing the fuel-air mixture getting richer as the air filter becomes clogged. Meaning the filter doesn’t need to be cleaned until there a noticeable drop in power occurs. With Stihl’s anti-vibration technology, it has a 3.5m/s2 /3.5/s2 vibration level making it easy to handle due to the lower vibration levels, which helps in reducing arm fatigue and making it easier to manoeuvre. This chainsaw features a PM3 chain which has a pitch of 3/8” P which ensures a reduced kick-back for the user. The Stihl MS261 has a long-life air filter system with routing, this will enable the filter to have a longer service life compared to regular air filter systems. The MS261 has a single lever master control allowing functions such as start, throttle, choke and stop to be operated by a single lever. Along with a tool free filler cap so opening/locking of fuel and oil tanks can be used without the need of other tools. It’s a robust general-purpose saw which is great for a domestic chainsaw user and for any professional tree surgeon considering to expand their tool range. With carburettor heating, allows you to change the chain saw from summer to winter operation, the intake air is re-heated over the engine fins. This ensures that the carburettor does not ice up and you can continued working in freezing temperatures.
